Mcalc for Series3
Version 1.1 - 24/7/92
Mcalc, or Money Calc, is intended primarily for keeping track of expenses, bank/credit card balances and the like. This program is 'beerware' - if you like it, send me a fiver and I'll consider you a registered user. You will then be able to get any add-ons that happen to be around, help etc.
Installation
Copy the Mcalc11.opa file into the \APP directory and install it using the menu Apps/Install Application... or Psion-I. You will then have a new icon on your system screen (currently a pound sign with the word Calc under it.). Data files are stored in the \OPD directory.
In Use
All the menus/hot-keys should be fairly obvious in their functions as I have tried to follow the internal apps wherever possible.
Search/Info (Psion-I) gives the balance for the current file.
When you Enter or Update an entry, you can enter the transaction date, a description (up to 254 characters), the value (include a - sign for negative amounts) and an analysis code (max 5 chrs). The analysis code is not currently used but will be supported in the near future.
When you modify an item, it is stored at the end of the file. Use the Sort facility (Psion-S) to sort the file into date order.
The totals from other files can be incorporated by entering a + or - followed by the filename in the descripion field. The balance from that file is then added/subtracted as appropriate. Note that this only works one level deep.
